Pier Genius is a engineering and manufacturing company, our products are truly engineered by people that are passionate in the areas of structural design, strengths of materials, and real world application testing. We think of ourselves as the first company to actually 'engineer' a dock frame. While some company's use the term loosely as something they made that is strong, it is definitely not an engineered frame. Anybody can throw metal at a frame design and make it strong; it also makes it heavy, and expensive. At Pier Genius we engineered a theory of why floating docks sway, what makes them strong, and what makes them heavy. We then worked from that into a design, then worked the materials in that design that make it A) efficient to produce, B) one of the lightest steel frames in the industry, and C) limit costs to the end user. We have met or exceeded all our goals and it took just under 3 years to complete the design. While it looks simple the beauty is in the functionality on the water. Where traditional docks can sway side to side up to 7+" at 24' out from shore, the Pier Genius dock with anti-sway technology only sways 1.5" side to side!
